MSI’s Wind U160 is the first ultra slim netbook with super long battery life.

Viewed from the side, if you trace the gently curving base of the MSI Wind U160 toward the round power knob in the back, then up and over the cover, you’ll note that the silhouette resembles the sun in all its glory peaking over the morning horizon. It represents the dawning of a new era of balance and beauty, of power and splendor as we step out of the darkness of last year’s economic gloom and into the light of a new decade of hope

Sweat and genius
The Wind U160 is a chic new product designed by MSI with solid state-of-the art craftsmanship. It was awarded Germany’s iF Product Design Award for 2010. This gorgeous piece of art comes equipped with Intel’s latest Pine Trail Platform. It’s the thinnest and lightest netbook ever and it offers 15 hours of battery power. It is the perfect blend of art, high tech innovation, and fashion.

In the past, battery performance and other technological restrictions prevented manufacturers from producing netbook computers that were both lightweight and offered extended battery life. With 23 years of experience under its belt, driven by its desire to “Insist on the best,” and helped along by the latest technological innovations, MSI has carried out over 10,000 computer structure simulations and countless experiments with structure models to finally develop the Wind U160. Less than an inch thick and tipping the scales at a mere 1kg, the Wind U160 is the world’s thinnest and lightest netbook with the longest battery power life for a netbook with its screen size.

Any way you look at it, it's art
MSI has written a new page in terms of high tech, design, and artistic innovation. The Wind U160’s simple elegant lines are pleasing to the eye from any angle. Viewed from the side, for example, the shimmering platinum luster of the spherical power dial looks as if it could have been placed there after having been plucked from the sky.

Set on one end of the central axis, the knob looks as though it was the sun or a crown jewel atop a scepter. The point of balance between the lines that make up the netbook’s upper and lower halves, it is the pinnacle of artistic design. This diminutive wonder offers today’s netbook enthusiasts a personalized design that they can truly enjoy.

MSI incorporates its exclusive Color Film Print to make the Wind U160 more fashionable. It comes in two classic colors—deep fancy gold and jet black, which when blended with the idea of the rising sun, suggest the image of the people of the world walking out into the gloriously warm morning sun, following a night of financial storm.

Another feather in MSI's cap
When turning on the Wind U160, the MSI logo appears on the screen in silvery-white characters. Scratch and wear-resistant Color Film Print is used on the wrist rest areas on either side of MSI's unique seamless touchpad and below the aesthetically, pleasing independent chiclet keyboard. Other netbooks pale in comparison to the uniquely stylish Wind U160 no matter how you look at it.

Before it ever hit the market, the unprecedentedly slim and light Wind U160, which brings together technological innovation and aesthetic pleasure into one design, had received Germany’s iF Product Design Award for 2010—the design world’s equivalent of an Oscar. What’s more, the Wind U160 was debatably the most eye-catching netbook at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which recently came to a close in Las Vegas, Nevada, winning accolades from media around the world.

Your best friend when you're on the go
Cinema-class viewing pleasure: The response time for the Wind U160’s 10.1” LED backlit power-saving display is just eight milliseconds—more than twice as fast as conventional laptops. Videos and animated films are more fluid and clear and boast enhanced definition and brighter colors.

Superior computing: The Wind U160 comes with Intel’s new generation Pine Trail Platform which utilizes Intel’s all-new ATOM N450 processor with single-chip architecture. At only 5.5 watts, it provides excellent computing performance, while sipping power, thereby stretching battery life.

15 hours of battery power: The Wind U160 is equipped with MSI’s exclusive ECO Engine Power Saving Technology which allows you to select with the touch of a finger from among five power management levels—Video Game, Film, Presentation, Word Processing, and Turbo Battery, for the image brightness you need when you need it. Tests have shown that the MSI Wind U160 can run up to 15 hours on battery power.

Top mobile technology: The Wind U160 is equipped with full wireless network connectivity, embedded 802.11 b/g/n wireless network, and Bluetooth V2.0EDR and supports 3.5G mobile network to enable you to communicate with the world through high speed wireless networks whenever, wherever you want.

*Actual battery time will differ depending on settings and the purpose for which the netbook is used. The 3.5G mobile network doesn’t come standard with the Wind U160 in some countries.
